In the past, bells were primarily used in tall church towers. Over time they were cast and set in free-standing campaniles, and were later placed in open public spaces.Today, the PACCARD Bell Foundry continues its tradition of innovation by incorporating bells directly into sculptural works of art that are being installed in town squares, corporate complexes, and other public places. This blending of music, bells, and sculpture is known as ARS SONORA®.
These sculptures are not just visually appealing; they are actual functioning musical instruments. Each ARS SONORA® is different, and is designed to enhance its surroundings by eliciting unique moods and images, both from its design, and from its use music. Having an ARS SONORA® in a city is a reassuring and peaceful presence that honors our past, celebrates our present, and inspires our future.
ARS SONORA® is a registered trademark from the PACCARD Bell Foundry.
