Hiroshima Women's University – Hiroshima city – Hiroshima Prefecture
|
In celebration of its 120th anniversary, the Hiroshima Women’s University built a new chapel and wanted a unique and original way of decorating the chapel’s façade. The PACCARD Group’s Japanese agent, Mr. Ogiri, of Carillonneur, Ltd., designed and installed this beautiful ARS SONORA®, made of 14 heavy-profile bells, for this occasion. The ARS SONORA® plays six times each day, rotating through a pre-determined list of stored hymns. Over 50 different seasonal melodies are programmed and used at various times of the year.
| The bells are rung by our HARMONY controller, which was designed for this purpose, and this particular ARS SONORA® has a special feature – each bell is equipped with a dynamic striker. This affords greater volume control and a wider range of musical interpretation.
| The University’s new chapel has become an oasis of prayer and peacefulness, and The PACCARD Group, along with Mr. Ogiri, is pleased to have been a part of making that happen. Enhancing a site and creating a special atmosphere are just two of the benefits of having an ARS SONORA® installation.
