  Ars Sonora Abbey & Industry : when PACCARD blends daring and talent !

No doubt : at the occasion of the inauguration of the Ars Sonora "Abbey & Industry, Ars Sonora, a concept developed by PACCARD  passed a decisive milestone. This monumental scuplture of 48 bells, unveiled May 22nd 2010 on a beautiful and sunny day, is a marvel of daring innovation and  lightness. A very nice achievement for the PACCARD Bell Foundry and a landmark for the City of Notre-Dame de Bondeville - near Rouen (Normandy) - converted to its innovative concept.

"In order to give rythm to the daily life of the inhabitants of Notre Dame de Bondeville, to celebrate feasts and ceremonies, weddings, twinnings the Ars Sonora "Abbey & industry" becomes a living and a meeting so needed on these uncertain days. Nowadays, culture is vital to human beings", declared Jean-Yves Merle, Maire of Notre-Dame de Bondeville.

The inaugural Concert has been followed by a music show where the musicians have had a tremendous time, and gave the large audience the opportunity to explore and dicover the musical potential of the Ars Sonora. Vibrations and shared emotions were brought together… A celebration enlightened by the presence of great pianist and internationally known François-René Duchâble.

"What can be more efficient than bells to gather people ?", declared Jean-Marc Bonnard, artist, sculptor and plasticis specialist. He has been the partner of the PACCARD Bell Foundry  partenaire de la Fonderie PACCARD for a long time and greately contributes towards the development of Ars Sonora.

"For this project of Notre-Dame de Bondeville, I drew my inspiration from the former industrial and religious history of the city, to create this Ars Sonora. It is unique,  and aims at becoming a "totem" for all the citizens."
