The bronze church bell is a bell designed specifically for churches. It must therefore be robust and produce a sound of a high quality. Paccard manufactures bronze church bells following the lost wax process, an ancient process that still proves efficient. This process consists in drawing the shape of the bronze church bell on a metallic board. Then a mold is crafted, using bricks and sand. From that mold, a false bell of sand and wax is made. In the last step, Paccard’s craftsmen start to mold the final bronze church bell using approximately 78% of copper and 22% of tin. A few days later, the bronze bell is taken out of the mold to be polished, so that it acquires the lustrous beauty of a Paccard’s product.
