| BELLS RINGING EQUIPEMENT |
|
There are different types of yoke whose usage varies as much according to region and the limits imposed by the bell (space available in the bell tower, solidity of the belfry…etc).
|
|
Wooden Yoke
With a flying clapper system, the yoke is wider than it is high and launches the clapper against the bell. Because of its light bulk, the wood yoke allows the installation of larger bells in a small bell tower but it does ask more effort from the belfry.
The three systems described above are the main bell ringing methods for swinging bells. However, each country, each region has its own specificities and there are a great deal of s.variant |
Metal Yoke
For a retro swinging system, the metal yoke swings the clapper, which falls against the bell. We envisage this type of ringing mode where the belfry is not very resistant because less effort is demanded of it.
|
Wooden Yoke
In the case of a balanced woden retro system, the yoke is as high as the bell and counter balance the clapper which "falls" on the bell. This method of bell ringing put less strain on the bell tower but, in another hand, requires more space.

All our yokes are equipped with bearings, which have self-aligning, oiled rolling beads and come with waterproof joints. Yokes are designed to allow a bell to swing on its own axe. The whole of the metallic accessories are sanded before application of a coat of paint guaranteeing an excellent resistance to corrosion. |
